1.20.3.6.1. Check of the rechargeable battery

Necessary special tool:

  – antiacid lubricant, for example, BOSCH-Polfett;
  – a steel brush (a brush for cleaning of poles and plugs);
  – the suitable device for voltage measurement.

CLEANING OF POLES OF THE RECHARGEABLE BATTERY

During regular survey of the car it is necessary to clean poles and plugs of the rechargeable battery and to grease them with antiacid lubricant.

Filled in in serially released rechargeable batteries of electrolyte usually is enough for all term of its service.
Prevention

Not to use naked flame near the rechargeable battery: it is explosive!

CHECK OF TENSION IN THE NON-WORKING STATE

Simple and reliable check of the rechargeable battery at service is a check of tension in a non-working state.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To disconnect the rechargeable battery. At the same time, among other things, the radio code is erased.
2. About 2 hours later to measure tension between poles of the rechargeable battery. If the device shows 12,5 B, the rechargeable battery as it should be. If it is less, to find out and remove the causes and, if necessary, to replace the battery.
3. At malfunctions in the electrical system to use electrical circuitries for failure detection.
