At the petrol engine the system of removal of exhaust gases consists of the following parts: exhaust collector, forward exhaust pipe, catalyst, average muffler and final muffler. The diesel engine has besides an exhaust collector and a forward exhaust pipe, the additional muffler and the average muffler. A lambda probe (only petrol engine) demanded for adjustment of the catalyst it is screwed in in a forward pipe near a connecting flange. In drawings systems of removal of the fulfilled gases of 4-cylinder engines are shown. They completely correspond to systems of 5-cylinder engines.

1,9 l the diesel engine with a turbo-supercharging (50 kW / 68 hp) is equipped in addition with the catalyst between a forward exhaust pipe and the additional muffler and the return supply of the fulfilled gas. The return supply of the fulfilled gas is carried out through the exhaust collector attached to a connecting pipe which takes away a part of exhaust gases via the valve of the return supply of the fulfilled gases operated by vacuum, in an inlet collector.

Adjustment of the return supply of the fulfilled gases is carried out by the double-thread valve which, in turn, is run by the monitor heat automatic equipment.

At the cold engine (it is below 50 °C) the return supply of exhaust gases is closed.

The sensor of power of uniform motion on TNVD, defines that exhaust gas has to be supplied back if the engine works at the power of uniform motion (partial power).

At turns from 1200 rpm the return supply of the fulfilled gases is interrupted on the 2nd second, and from 2900 rpm is closed.

The proof sensor of height above sea level switches off the return giving at the height about 100 m.

All components of the exhaust system are screwed together with each other or connected by spring plates and can be replaced separately. Self-tightening nuts and laying after removal are replaced. Rubber shock-absorbers are checked for porosity and damages, if necessary, are replaced. The condition of lock rings is checked, damaged are replaced.

At installation of new system of removal of the fulfilled gases it is recommended to replace also all fasteners.
