2.5.2.1. 4-cylinder petrol engine

2.5.2.1. 4-cylinder petrol engine

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To take off maple a belt (see subsection 2.12.1).
2. To install the crankshaft in the provision of VMT for 1 cylinder and it is more situation not to change.

Installation of the engine in VMT for 1 cylinder

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To remove the top casing of a gear belt.
2. To take out a stopper on a coupling case.
3. To rotate an engine shaft before combination of tags of VMT.
4. Rotation of a shaft of the engine can be carried out in various ways:
      – to raise one edge of the machine so that to release a wheel and, previously having included the 5th transfer, to rotate a forward wheel;
      – to install the car on a plain surface. To include the 5th transfer. To push the car forward or back;
      – to install the transmission in neutral situation. To tighten the emergency brake. To remove the lower mudguard of the engine. To rotate the crankshaft for the central bolt of a vibroquencher.

Prevention

Not to rotate the engine for a bolt of fastening of a cam-shaft, it can lead to an overload of a gear belt.

5. To rotate the engine until the cam-shaft does not reach VMT position for 1 cylinder. At the same time the tag on a driving gear wheel of a cam-shaft has to coincide with a tag on a casing of a gear belt. There are 2 executions (are specified by an arrow A and an arrow B).
6. At the same time the tag on a flywheel (0) or the conducted clutch plate has to coincide with VMT tag. Otherwise to rotate the crankshaft further.
7. To disconnect a vibroquencher from the crankshaft.
8. To remove the top and lower casing of a gear belt.
9. To weaken and take off a gear belt.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To check the provision of VMT of distributive, cranked and intermediate shaft, if necessary to establish.
2. To check the provision of a cam-shaft in VMT for the first cylinder. The tag on a driving gear wheel of a cam-shaft in this case coincides with a tag on a casing of a gear belt. If necessary carefully to turn a cam-shaft at the taken-off gear belt.

Prevention

If it is necessary to turn a cam-shaft at the taken-off gear belt, then any piston should not be in VMT. For this purpose to apply a color strip on a vibroquencher and to turn the crankshaft on 90 ° forward or back. At last, if the cam-shaft was established in a provision of VMT for 1 cylinder, to install the crankshaft again in the provision of VMT for 1 cylinder. Apply a vibroquencher to rotation of the crankshaft.

3. At the same time the crankshaft has to be in the provision of VMT. In this case the tag on a flywheel or the conducted clutch plate has to coincide with VMT tag.
4. At the same time the tag on the runner of the distributor has to coincide with a tag on the edge of the distributor case. Otherwise to turn respectively an intermediate cogwheel. To make this check, to uncover the ignition distributor, to remove the distributor runner, to take off a dustproof cap and at last, again to install the runner.
5. To check simultaneous coincidence of all 3 tags. In this case the engine is in the provision of VMT for 1 cylinder.
6. To put on a gear belt a crankshaft wheel, a driving gear wheel of a cam-shaft and an intermediate cogwheel.

Prevention

At installation of a gear belt it is impossible to change the provision of a cam-shaft, the crankshaft or an intermediate shaft. Non-compliance with this rule can lead to heavy breakage of the engine, or the engine will not develop full capacity.

After a belt tension to check the provision of a cam-shaft, intermediate shaft and belt pulley again. It means: if the tag on a driving gear wheel of a cam-shaft coincides with the corresponding tag on a casing of a gear belt, at the same time has to coincide with a tag on a flywheel and with a tag on the ignition distributor. Otherwise to repeat installation at the taken-off gear belt.

7. To screw a vibroquencher.
8. To pull a gear belt.
9. To twice turn the crankshaft in the direction of rotation of the engine and again to check adjustment.
10. To remove a vibroquencher.
11. To establish the lower casing of a gear belt.
12. To establish the top casing of a gear belt.
13. To establish a vibroquencher and to tighten the moment 25 N · m.
14. To establish a dustproof cap, then an ignition distributor cover.
15. To establish and pull maple a belt (see subsection 2.12.1).
16. To check the ignition moment, if necessary to adjust.

Prevention

At repair which demands removal of a gear belt only from a driving gear wheel of a cam-shaft, to make adjustment of a gear belt in a way described below.

17. The tag on a driving gear wheel of a cam-shaft has to coincide with a tag on a cover of a head of the block of cylinders.
18. To weaken a gear belt and to remove a driving gear wheel of a cam-shaft.

Prevention

Not to change the provision of a cam-shaft and intermediate shaft any more.

19. To put on and pull a gear belt.
20. To uncover the ignition distributor. To check installation of the distributor on the runner and a tag.
21. To turn the crankshaft on 2 turns and to check combination of tags of a cam-shaft and the crankshaft.
22. To check the ignition moment, if necessary to adjust (see subsection 2.14.6).
23. To allow the engine to work. If the gear belt whistles, then it is drawn.
