Prevention
For installation of a bolt of fastening of a support of units at the left on a body, it is necessary to establish a basic pin of a support of the engine and a spindle of removable adaptation (shooter) precisely on one line. To remove removable VW-3184 adaptation only when screws of fastening of the left support of units are tightened.

| 2. 4-cylinder engine: to screw a protective protection an exhaust pipe - the fuel tank. |
| 3. To connect a forward exhaust pipe to the additional muffler or the catalyst (see subsection 2.19.1). |
| 4. To wring out the stabilizer of both connecting drafts against the stop up to provide space for an exhaust pipe. |
| 5. To tighten a bearing arm on the transmission and on a rubber-metal support the moment of 65 N · m. |
| 6. If acted, to establish electrical wires and pipelines. |
| 7. To remove removable VW-3184 adaptation. |
| 8. To unscrew a support of the VW 3230/3227 engine. |
| 9. To install a power shaft of a speedometer on the case of the bearing of the right half shaft of the engine. |
10. To 8/92 (date of issue of a box 09.08.92):
– to establish a back support the engine - the transmission without tension;
– to tighten screws (A) the moment of 65 N · m (only if the transmission support was removed);
– to tighten screws (V) the moment of 45 N · m.
Prevention
After replacement of the transmission or its repair it is necessary to measure thickness of a compensation plate between the console and the case of the transmission again. For this purpose to measure distance between the console and the transmission and to establish between them a plate 0,5 mm or 1,0 mm thick. If less than 0,5 mm, a plate not to establish a gleam.

11. With 8/92 (date of production of the transmission 10.08.92) the changed back support of the transmission is established:
– openings (A) are increased from 10 mm to 12 mm;
– old six-sided M10 screws of fastening of a support of a box on an arm of hinged units are replaced with new six-sided M16 screws (C) – the new back support of a box cannot be installed in old machines. |
12. With 8/92:
– to establish a back support the engine - the transmission without tension;
– to tighten screws (A) the moment of 100 N · m;
– to tighten screws (V) the moment of 40 N · m;
– the screw (C) to tighten the moment 270 N · m. |
| 13. Conditioner: to screw the compressor. |
| 14. 4-cylinder engine: to establish the lower protective protection of a flywheel. |
| 15. 4-cylinder engine: to screw in fastening screws the engine - the transmission over the bearing case (the inhaling moments: the M8 screw – 25 N · m, the M12 screw – 80 N · м). |

16. To tighten bolts of fastening of the bearing transmission on the engine and the case of the bearing so: to establish bolts (A) and (In). In the beginning to tighten bolts (A), then bolts (In). |
| 17. 5-cylinder engine: to install the generator. |
| 18. Diesel engine: to put on a vacuum hose of the amplifier of brakes the vacuum pump. |
| 19. To screw connection with the mass of a box of broadcasts arms of the bearing. |

| 27. To wrap fastening screws the engine - the transmission from above. Inhaling moments: the M8 screw – 25 N · m; the M12 screw – 80 N · m. |

| 29. To screw the pipeline of cooling liquid from a broad tank on a water pomp, on a starter. |
| 30. To install an arm of a power shaft of a speedometer on the transmission. |
| 31. At cars with the mechanical drive of coupling to fix a coupling rope on the transmission and an arm of the bearing of the transmission. |
| 32. Mechanical drive of coupling: to squeeze out a coupling pedal against the stop not less than 5 times, then to check operation of the adjusting device (see subsection 3.4). |
| 33. At cars with the hydraulic drive of coupling: to screw the working cylinder on the transmission the moment of 25 N · m. |
| 34. To take out an assembly pin or the M8x22 screw from an opening of the transmission and to close an opening a stopper. |
| 35. To establish and adjust the mechanism of switching to the transmission. |
| 36. To establish on former places of fastening of an electrical wiring to hoses of cooling liquid. |
| 37. To connect, according to tags an adhesive tape, cables of the transmission and a starter. |
| 38. To establish a radiator on the place (cm. subsection 2.16.2.1). |
39. To connect a weight(s) cable to the rechargeable battery.
Prevention
To connect the rechargeable battery only at the switched-off ignition. Otherwise the control unit of system of injection will fail.
