8.3. Designation of tires

Marking of tires

195 – tire width in mm;
/70 – height relation to width (height of a cross-section of the tire makes 70% of width);
N – a class of speed, N: to 210 km/h (on
new tires more on this place it is not designated);

R – radial type of production (brekerny tire);
14 – diameter of a rim in inches;
89 – designation of loading capacity;
N – alphabetic reference of admissible speed limit

Prevention

If between 14 and 81 costs designation S, then it is about the tire with a winter protector.

If there is no special designation of the relation of a cross-section, for example 175 R 14, then it is about a "normal" ratio of height to width. It at brekerny tires makes 82%.

Alphabetic reference of speed stands behind the tire size. Symbols of speed matter both for summer, and for winter tires.

The additional designation "reinforced" – the tire of the strengthened execution.
