2.9. Replacement of maslootrazhatelny caps

Wear of maslootrazhatelny caps can be the cause of the raised consumption of oil. Maslootrazhatelny caps can be removed also on the established head of the block of cylinders, but the special VW-2036 tool with VW541/1 or HAZET 2577-2, and is for this purpose necessary for petrol engines – compressed air.


Prevention

Removal on the petrol engine is described. In case of the diesel engine compressed air is not necessary, but then the piston of the corresponding cylinder has to be in VMT. To install the engine in the provision of VMT for 1 cylinder (see subsection 2.5.2.1).


Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To remove a cam-shaft and dish-shaped pushers (see subsection 2.7).
2. To install the piston of the corresponding cylinder in LDP (lower dead point). For this purpose to turn the crankshaft a face key for a belt pulley so that the notch on a belt pulley coincided with the corresponding tag of a protection of a gear belt (1 cylinder costs in VMT now). At this time the 2 and 3 cylinders stand in NMT. To mark a belt pulley of the crankshaft from below with chalk, then to turn a belt pulley on 1/2 turns (180 °) until the cretaceous tag coincides with the corresponding tag. Now the 1 and 4 cylinders stand in NMT.
3. To turn out all spark plugs.
4. To wrap in the necessary cylinder, instead of a candle an adapter of VW 653/3 or HAZET 3428 and to connect a hose with compressed air.
5. If near at hand there is no special tool, to make an adapter of an old spark plug. For this purpose to bite off an electrode of weight (1), to break the screw-driver the ceramic insulator (2), shaking here and there, to break the central electrode (3) and to take out it. To beat out the remains of an average electrode together with the glass melt (4) and the joint pin (5) a suitable punch (about 3 mm) (see rice. Spark plug). At the same time to clamp a candle in a vice.

Prevention

Not to damage a candle carving not to damage then a carving in an opening of a head of the block of cylinders where the made adapter will be wrapped.


6. To wrap the adapter prepared thus in the necessary cylinder and to connect to it a hose with compressed air.
7. To support by compressed air constant pressure in the cylinder not less than 6 bars.
8. To screw VW-2036 adaptation on 1 and 4 racks of bearings and to squeeze springs of valves VW541/1 adaptation. It is possible to use also HAZET 2577-2 adaptation. In this case to screw the counteremphasis which is available on adaptation on a hairpin of fastening of a cam-shaft and to squeeze springs the device for compression of springs.

Prevention

The piston in this case has to stand in NMT.


9. To take out case crackers, to weaken valve springs.

Prevention

To beat out strongly sitting conical crackers easy blows of the hammer through mount.


10. To take out plates of springs and a spring of the valve.
11. To take out maslootrazhatelny caps. For this purpose at the plants the special tool (VW 10-218 or VW 3047, HAZET 791-5 or a shock stripper of HAZET 791-2) is used. Old maslootrazhatelny caps, as a rule sit very strongly. Therefore for removal use a shock stripper more often.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To get a plastic sleeve (A) (it is delivered together with maslootrazhatelny caps) on a valve core. To grease the Maslootrazhatelny cap (V) with a thin butter layer, to install in zapressovochny VW 10-214 or HAZET 2577 adaptation and to get carefully on a core guide. To remove a sleeve and zapressovochny adaptation.

Prevention

If installation is made without use of a plastic sleeve, then the maslootrazhatelny cap will be damaged! Thereof the engine will consume too much oil!


2. To establish springs, plates of valves and to squeeze springs.
3. To establish conical crackers, to weaken springs.
4. In the same way to replace other maslootrazhatelny caps. To establish dish-shaped pushers and a cam-shaft.
