Check and adjustment of turns of the 4-cylinder engine

As diesel engines have no system of ignition, the special measuring instrument of turns is necessary (tachometer) of VDO. It is connected to the generator plug.

If the tachometer is installed in the machine, for check and adjustment it is possible to use it.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. To warm up the engine up to the working temperature. Temperature of oil is not less than 60 °C.
2. To connect a tachometer.
3. Not to take out a rope of the gate of the accelerator of cold start.
4. All electroconsumers (radio, light) have to be switched off.
5. To check idling turns, extreme value for the 1,9-liter engine: 850±30 rpm; 2,4-liter engine: 850±50 rpm. If necessary, to adjust idling turns the adjusting screw 1. To the right: turns increase. To the left: turns decrease.
Prevention

If at the 4-cylinder engine turns of idling not to lower lower than 880 rpm as the emphasis adjoins to the restrictive screw 3, to raskontrit the restrictive screw and to unscrew. To adjust idling the adjusting screw 1, to screw the restrictive screw against the stop in an emphasis and to zakontrit.

6. To take out a rope of cold start before the first fixing. Turns have to increase approximately on 60 rpm.
7. To take out a rope of cold start up to the end. Turns have to increase approximately up to 1050±50 rpm.
8. If the required values are not reached, to adjust a rope of cold start.
Prevention

If the required value of 1050 rpm, despite correctness of adjustment of a rope of cold start, is not reached – to raskontrit the persistent screw (4). To adjust, at completely taken out rope, by means of the persistent screw turns, and to zakontrit the persistent screw.


Check of limit turns
9. To give "full gas". The required value: 4800±100 rpm.
10. If necessary to weaken a lock-nut of the adjusting screw (2) (the 4-cylinder engine) or (3) (the 5-cylinder engine) and to adjust limit turns. Then to tighten a lock-nut.
Prevention

The concentrating screw is sealed up by a cap and usually is not adjusted. If, on rashness, the tension of the screw was changed, then emergence of the following malfunctions is possible: 1. The screw is screwed in – enrichment too big, turns of idling are high, unregulated. 2. The screw is unscrewed – enrichment too little, pushes at a start of motion or acceleration on low turns. If necessary, to make basic adjustment. For this purpose to remove a cap and to raskontrit the screw.


11. Enrichment is not enough: to gradually screw in the adjusting screw until turns do not increase more, then to turn out the screw on 1/2 turns.
12. Enrichment is too big (turns are too high): to unscrew the adjusting screw until turns do not decrease more, then to screw in the screw on 1/2 turns.
13. To Zakontrit the adjusting screw and to seal up a new cap.
